Abstract nonsense

....Life comes to us in various packages. The best part of it is that it is highly unpredictable. We all have our shares of dreams, aspirations, hopes, fears, expectations and disappointments. We think ourselves as great decision makers and planners. But whether we accept it or not, like it or not, nature has its own games to play. Sometimes despite whatever we do, however much we plan, estimate, arrange matters, things simply do not fall in place. Yet at other times, when you give up all hopes, think it is all over and close the chapter accepting defeat, somebody walks towards you bringing the much needed respite. Some call it heavenly influence, yet others- simple human relations.

Over the course of our existence, we come across many people. Some of whom we like, some of whom we do not like. Yet others whom we dislike; but love talking ill of. Some of these people stay on with us through good and bad times. A strong bond forms linking them to us. Some people we think about and wonder what happened to them. Some others we wonder whether they wondered what happend to us -people who weave their way through our life, play some role for a while and completely disappear forever, for various reasons. Sometimes we forget about such people. Sometimes we don’t. We often put off matters for the future, postpone things, or simply do not speak up to people because of personal ego. When we actually gather courage to bring matters to light, apologize to someone for our mistakes, it is in all probability too late. That person has probably walked out of our life, leaving behind a space, emptiness, a feeling of regret forever……….

"The inability to anticipate correctly our future emotional states after important events could be one of the most profound discoveries of modern psychology, because every major decision we make in life is based on an implicit prediction of how happy or sad the outcome will make us. While poor decision-making might be an unfortunate side effect of this phenomenon, one benefit is that this tendency seems to be a kind of “psychological immune system”, wired into our minds, which protect us from feeling too terrible when bad things happen to us. It works by rationalizations we wheel out to cope crises."

Hi Munni,

I did like the philosophical touch in this post. Above is an excerpt from Dr. Raj Persaud's "The Motivated mind".
